Privacy Policy

Who we are

Rooted is a KJV Bible app for women, offered by Faith Solutions Group (“we,” “us”). This policy covers this website (getrooted.me) and the Rooted app at app.getrooted.me. Questions? Email clientcare@getrooted.me.

What we collect

When you create an account

• Your first name and email address.
• Your password, which is stored securely by our sign-in provider. We never see it.
• Your time zone, so your new day opens at 12:01 a.m. where you live.

We don't ask for your birthday, phone number, address, or location.

What you choose to add

• Your profile: an optional photo and a short bio.
• Private things: your prayer journal, answered prayers, saved prayers, saved scriptures, memorized verses, garden, reading plans, and streak.
• Things you share: prayer wall posts, reactions, wins, reading circles, accountability partner requests and messages, and reports you make.
• Settings: reminder times and which notifications you want.

Collected as you use Rooted

• The days you read, prayers you prayed, and other activity that keeps your streak and grows your garden.
• If you turn on notifications, a device token so we can send them, and a record of which notifications were sent.
• If you subscribe to Premium, your subscription status and dates. Card details go straight to Stripe. We never see or store your card number.

What you type into Heart Check (“I feel…”) or the Pray search box is used to find a matching prayer and is not kept with your account. If no prayer fits a Heart Check, we keep the words anonymously, with names, phone numbers, and email addresses removed and nothing that says who typed them, so our care team can write a prayer for it. To find a match, Rooted may send those cleaned words, never your name or account, to an AI service (Anthropic) that only picks one of Rooted's existing prayers. What you type into Search the Word on the Word page isn't kept at all.

Voice typing uses your browser's built-in speech feature, so your voice is handled by your browser (for example, Google in Chrome or Apple in Safari). Rooted never receives or records audio.

Who can see what

Only you

Your prayer journal is private to you. It is locked to your account in our database, and our team, including admins, can't read it. Your saved prayers, saved scriptures, memorized verses, and Heart Check entries are also yours alone. Your garden and reading history are yours too; admins can see a summary of them (below) so they can help you.

Other members

• Other members can see your first name, profile photo, and bio. Premium members who tap your name also see your streak, best streak, badges, and when you joined, unless you turn on Keep my profile private in your profile; then they see only your name and photo. Profile photos are stored at a web address that anyone who has the link can open, so only use a photo you're comfortable sharing.
• Prayer wall posts, wins, and reactions can be seen by Premium members. If you post anonymously, other members don't see your name.
• In a reading circle, members see each other and whether each has read today.
• Your accountability partner can see your streak, best streak, badges, whether you've read today, and the plans you're reading. Messages are seen only by the people in that conversation. Notifications about a partner request can show your name and your note.

Our team

A small team of admins keeps Rooted running and the community safe. Admins can:

• Look up a member by name or email and see her name, email, join date, last sign-in, time zone, Premium status, and whether she is suspended.
• See the plans she is reading and how far along she is, the plans she has finished, her streak, how many days she has read, the size of her garden, her badges, the reading circles she is in, and her accountability partner. They use this to help members who get stuck and to understand how Rooted is used. They can't see your prayer journal, saved prayers, Heart Check entries, or messages.
• Add, restart, or end a plan for a member, give or end free Premium, and send her a sign-in or password-reset link. Each of these is recorded.
• See who invited a member to Rooted and whom she has invited. When you sign up through a friend's invite link, Rooted records that she invited you, so invitations can be counted and rewarded.
• Review prayer wall posts that are reported or flagged, including who wrote an anonymous post, so they can keep the wall safe and reach out when someone may be in crisis.
• Read a single accountability message only when someone reports it.

Our team also gets an email when someone joins Rooted or upgrades to Premium, with her name, email, plan, and join date.

How we use your information

• To run Rooted: your plans, streak, garden, prayers, reminders, and community features.
• To send the emails you need, like sign-in links and password resets, and the notifications you turn on.
• To process Premium subscriptions.
• To keep the community safe: we automatically refuse posts with links, email addresses, or requests for money, and we review reports.
• To answer you when you contact us.

We do not sell or rent your information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone for their own marketing.

Services we use

We use a few trusted companies to run Rooted. They handle your information only to provide their service to us.

• Supabase: our database, sign-in, and file storage.
• Vercel: hosts this website and the app.
• Stripe: processes Premium payments. We share your email, first name, and an account ID so Stripe can bill you.
• Resend: sends our emails.
• Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google): delivers notifications to your device. Notifications can include things like the Scripture of the day, a plan name, or a partner's name.
• Google Fonts: provides the app's fonts, which means your device contacts Google to load them.
• Google Analytics: on this website (getrooted.me) only, not in the app. It tells us how many people visit, which pages they view, and roughly where visits come from (like a search or a shared link). Google receives your IP address and device and browser details to do this. It never sees anything you do inside the app.

Links like “Read it online” (Bible Gateway) and My Faith Hub take you to other sites with their own privacy policies. Like most online services, our hosting providers may keep standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and storage on your device

Rooted doesn't use advertising cookies. The app saves your sign-in session and a few settings, like which notices you've seen, in your browser's storage so you stay signed in. The app sets no analytics cookies. Stripe's checkout pages may use their own cookies to process payments safely.

This website (getrooted.me) uses Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are helpful. To opt out, you can block cookies in your browser or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Learn more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

How long we keep it, and deleting your account

We keep your information while your account is open. If your Premium plan ends, nothing is deleted. You can still read your journal, and your Premium features come back if you subscribe again.

You can delete your account anytime in the app under Profile, My account, Delete my account. This permanently deletes your profile, photo, plans, streak, garden, prayers, journal, check-ins, posts, and messages, and cancels any Premium subscription right away so you won't be charged again. A few records stay:

• Our internal record of admin actions may keep your email address.
• Stripe keeps payment records as the law requires.
• Data can remain in backups for a limited time before they're replaced.

Your choices and rights

• Edit your name, photo, bio, time zone, and notifications in your profile.
• Turn off any notification type, or all of them.
• Post to the prayer wall anonymously, or not at all.
• Block someone, which ends a partnership and stops her requests and messages.
• Delete your account and its data at any time.

If you'd like a copy of your information, or want something corrected or deleted, email clientcare@getrooted.me from the address on your account. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights, and we'll honor them.

Children

Rooted is for ages 13 and up. Teens 13 to 17 should use it with a parent or guardian's permission. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, email clientcare@getrooted.me and we'll delete it.

Security

Your information is sent over encrypted connections, and our database is locked down so each person can only reach her own private data. No service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong password and keep your sign-in links to yourself.

Where your information is stored

Rooted is run from the United States, and our service providers may store and process your information in the United States.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll update the date at the top and let you know in the app or by email. Using Rooted after a change means you accept the updated policy.
